What is LanguageCloud?

The passionate team at the First Nations Education Foundation (FNEF) developed LanguageCloud to provide a comprehensive and integrated learning environment that supports the revitalization of First Nations languages and cultures. This innovative platform offers an online dictionary, historical archives, and interactive learning activities. By ensuring data sovereignty and collaborating with community educators, LanguageCloud empowers communities to preserve their linguistic heritage and foster cultural pride, making language learning accessible and engaging for all.

The LanguageCloud's online dictionary aids in preserving and revitalising community heritage languages. Accessible through any web browser, it is an essential resource for language learners, featuring both written and spoken entries of words and phrases collected in collaboration with community language speakers.

Audio Integration

Audio integration enables users to hear correct pronunciations and contextual usage of words, recorded by community language speakers. This feature enhances the learning experience by providing authentic auditory examples, making language acquisition more immersive and effective.
